Quarantine (Bylaws, Process & Sterility)
A Controlled Environment to Sterilize Goods & Ensure Quality Control
Within the AHI Red Deer Smart Community, the protection and preservation of community members and products is of upmost importance. To ensure operators and their commercial merchandise maintain its high-quality, AHI enforces strict integrated pest management protocols. This service is available to all on-site tenants as required.
Quarantine and pest management protocols are important for preventing unwanted plant and animal pests and diseases entering our community. Controlling plant and animal pests and diseases lets operators maintain healthy crops, consumer products, livestock, and people. AHI community bylaws mirror municipal legal enforcement of the County of Red Deer, which aim to prevent pests from spreading or multiplying.
Strict AHI bylaws are enforced to ensure that every product that enters the facility—whether it be supply, ingredient, or merchandise—is quarantined and inspected for pest management control. Assessments using infrared cameras and advanced screening technology are just one level of mitigation AHI has put in place to protect the business park with multiple tenants. In addition, each unit has their own quarantine protocols and areas when receiving materials. This added layer of protection significantly reduces any threats to output product quality.
AHI’s quarantine process consists of:
- All products that may have risk of contamination or attract pests must be approved by AHI on-site security prior to entry & exit of the development.
- Once vetted and approved, products can then be imported / exported.
- The products move through a controlled housing system and procedures to ensure containment and isolation from external sources or threats that can be identified as posing potential risk to existing colony health.
- Once products complete quarantine and are approved, they are delivered to each respective unit.
- Each AHI building and unit has another layer of quarantine rooms and process to further mitigate external risks.
